Madera Unified's College and Career Readiness Department collaborates with schools to provide students with clear pathways to higher education and meaningful careers. Our Career Technical Education (CTE) courses combine academic instruction with hands-on, real-world experiences.
Through CTE, students can apply what they learn in the classroom to practical situations, preparing them for high-demand and rapidly growing industries. These programs include interactive labs and work-based learning opportunities on real and simulated job sites.
Students enrolled in CTE develop valuable skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration, planning, and time management, which are beneficial both in college and in the workforce. As a result, these students often exceed district averages in graduation rates and post-secondary enrollment, with many earning free college credit while still in high school.
Additionally, our department supports early career exploration and manages the issuance of student work permits.
